Registration Now Open for the Crystal City Diamond Derby

Indoor Courses for Cyclists of All Abilities and Cycling-Themed Fashion Shows

Saturday, September 29, 2012

Arlington, VA — Online registration is now open for cyclists who wish to participate in the second Crystal City Diamond Derby, taking place Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 4pm to 10pm. Hosted by the Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID), in association with Vornado/Charles E. Smith, Dandies & Quaintrelles (D&Q), Corehaus DC and Sciathan Productions, the event will transform the parking garage at 2345 Crystal Drive in Crystal City into an urban cycling course and dynamic infield complete with a lounge, street art and viewing areas. Admission is free for spectators.

The Derby kicks off with a free race for kids and the arrival of the D&Q River Ride, a fashion-fueled casual ride originating in DC. And the style doesn’t stop there. New to the derby, cycling-inspired fashion shows will keep the energy flowing between races. The best-dressed River Ride participants will strut their styles on the runway, and models will show off cycle chic and vintage looks, along with their bikes, in separate runway shows. The Daily Rider and Bike Arlington are proud sponsors of the fashion shows.

The best-dressed River Ride participants will take home prizes, as well as the top men, women and children finishers in each race.

The following Races/Events require online registration:

Don’t miss this exciting who’s who of glamorous cyclists and stylish riders as we wind past landmarks and along waterfronts to join the party at 2345 Crystal Drive!
