Global Angel Wings Project Lands in Crystal City

Crystal City (Arlington, VA) – The Crystal City sky is always bustling with airplanes from Washington National and birds from Roaches Run Waterfowl Sanctuary. Now, Crystal City is about to put on some new wings. The Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) and Vornado/Charles E. Smith are excited to welcome artist Colette Miller and her “Wings” to Crystal City as part of the Global Angel Wings Project.

“We have always seen the walls of Crystal City as a canvas,” said Angela Fox, President/CEO of the Crystal City BID. “The wings installation offers a new twist by encouraging public interaction with a creative and unique piece of artwork through social media.”

Colette Miller will be onsite painting the new “Wings” installation on Thursday, August 14th on the temporary construction fencing located at the corner of 18th and Crystal Drive. Upon completion, Crystal City residents, workers, and visitors are invited to participate in the world-wide project by taking photos of themselves with the wings and posting them to twitter and instagram tagged with #crystalwings.
