From Cuisine to Couture - Food Truck Thursday Has You Covered

Crystal City (Arlington, VA) – The Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) in partnership with Vornado/Charles E. Smith will be providing the Crystal City neighborhood with another great place to satisfy your appetite for food and fashion. Starting in May, the DC Fashion Truck Tour will join Crystal City’s weekly Food Truck Thursdays along the sidewalk in front of 1900 Crystal Drive (at the intersection of 18th Street S. and Crystal Drive) from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

“Crystal City is home to great retail including restaurants and shops,” said Crystal City BID President/CEO Angela Fox. “On Thursday, those amenities are enhanced through these unique Street-tail offerings that are part of Food Truck Thursdays. What better way to escape the office than picking up some haute styles while grabbing lunch?”

The new partnership with DC Fashion Truck Tour (@dcfashtrucktour) brings our successful pop-up clothing shop and fashion show, the Crystal Couture Show and Sale, outside onto the sidewalk of Crystal Drive. Recently featured in the Washington Post Style Section, the emerging evolution of the mobile vending industry brings fully functional stores on wheels, complete with inventory, dressing room, and friendly staff, directly to their customers’ neighborhoods.

Food Truck Thursdays already hosts the area’s best Food Trucks on a rotating schedule, providing a diversity of delicacies that changes each week. Participating food trucks include Doug the Food Dude (@DougtheFoodDude), Pho on Wheels (@PhoWheels), Red Hook Lobster Truck (@LobsterTruckDC), Curbside Cupcake (@CurbSidecupcake), Arepa Zone (@ArepaZone), KaftaMania (@kaftamania), and Capital Kabobs (@capitalkabobs). Follow your favorites or @ccbid to learn who is on site each week.

Convenience is not only for fashion and food, it also applies to getting your drivers’ license renewed! The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles’ (DMV) mobile service station, DMV2Go, will be on site this Thursday, May 1st at Food Truck Thursday from 9 AM to 4 PM. Renew your drivers’ license; obtain vehicle titles, license plates, decals, or transcripts; purchase hunting/fishing licenses; update your address and more. Review this brochure for a complete listing of offered services.
