This is a tag team workshop with instructors Tony Ritchie and Kat Jamieson, where you will learn to use a number of organic metal shaping tools, enameling, and the metal clay kiln as you create a unique piece of art you can take home to display. You'll make a colorful, eye-catching piece by forming and enameling your own hammered copper bowl.

First, you’ll make your bowl using sheet metal shaping tools such as planishing hammers and shot bags. Then, you will create a colorful finish for your new bowl with a variety of enameling techniques. Using colorful ground-glass powders applied to the metal and then firing in a high temperature kiln will allow you to give your bowl a one-of-a-kind look; layers of color can be built up using multiple quick firings.

Whether you're giving it as a gift or keeping it for your own use, this bowl will be an attention-getter!

Look for this instructor's other classes on the September class calendar: Cloisonne Enameling,Silver Enameling, Copper Enameling, Copper and Silver Metal Clay (a 2-session course).
