UPCOMING DATES AND TIMES
Crystal City Shops at 2100
Each month, the Gallery Underground changes its entire exhibit and presents a new show from its talented members in many forms: paintings, sculpture, glass and ceramic work, jewelry, mixed media and photography. On "First Fridays" (the first Friday of every month), the Gallery hosts an art reception free and open to all from 5-7pm.
The Gallery Underground’s focus gallery theme this month is On The Road: A tour of the US and Europe, seen through the eyes of Pattee Hipschen.
As one travels the world, it is impossible to not want to save the entire experience – the tiny moments shared between new acquaintances, the exquisite beauty of a newly seen landscape. They sear themselves into your memory, and for artist Pattee Hipschen, they are the inspiration for her new solo show, “On The Road”. Hipschen’s paintings celebrate over 30 years of road trips through the US and Europe and include images of rural roads, alleys and ditches, urban traffic jams and ribbons of big, open highways. The show, which will be hanging in the Focus Gallery, is a collection of colorful paintings and monoprints ranging from a delightfully tiny 4x4 inches to an expansive 40x60.
