The area encompassing Crystal City, Pentagon City and Potomac Yard – Arlington is a dynamic mixed-use urban center and Virginia’s largest walkable downtown. This area is in the midst of a remarkable transformation with billions committed in public and private investment, Amazon's selection as a second headquarters location, and a thriving residential, hotel, and business community. While the notion of expanding the BID dates back to 2013, there has never been a better or more appropriate time to pursue this important milestone. By expanding the BID’s boundaries beyond Crystal City to include Pentagon City and Potomac Yard – Arlington and establishing our strategic initiatives, we can help shape growth in ways that unlock the area’s full potential and enhance the quality of life for those who live, work and visit here on a daily basis. The BID can also cultivate a culture of inclusion and further strengthen the overall community through events and partnerships. The Arlington County Board will vote on the measure to expand the BID’s boundaries at its September 21, 2019 meeting.
Creating a striking new visual identity and a cohesive message for this entire place is one of the primary goals of our strategic plan. This will also be paramount once our boundaries are expanded beyond Crystal City. Please take the survey: your feedback will inform our brand story and messaging!
