Crystal Drive Paving & New Lane Configuration
Arlington County completed paving operations along Crystal Drive and will be installing new lane markings this week. Note that the markings will implement a new lane configuration to accommodate the upcoming transitway operation. Crystal Drive will now have only ONE southbound lane, a center turn lane, and ONE northbound lane for general purpose vehicles. A second northbound lane will be a transit only lane during listed peak hours upon the official completion and opening of the transitway (for additional detail on transit way operations, visit the County's project page). A center, two-way turn lane will accommodate left turning movements for northbound and southbound traffic. Northbound and southbound bicycle lanes will remain.
