Vintage Crystal: Pups and Pilsners
12th Street and Crystal Drive
Sunday, September 20th - 2pm to 6pm
Fly solo or bring your furry friend to the Pups and Pilsners outdoor beer festival in Crystal City. This dog-friendly festival features a massive beer garden with craft brew and offerings from local breweries. Plan a picnic or grab a bite from a local Crystal City restaurant or on-site food truck. Purchase online tickets and save $5! 

Vintage Crystal: Wine in the Water Park - This Friday
Crystal City Water Park - 1750 Crystal Drive
Fridays in September - 6pm to 10pm
Wine in the Water Park combines sips and sounds to create an ambient outdoor event featuring interesting wine varietals and live music in the neighborhood's signature Crystal City Water Park. If you're interested in painting while you sip, ArtJamz is offering a free painting session at Wine In the Water Park from 6PM to 7:30PM every Friday in September. Until supplies last, attendees get a 12 x 16 canvas, paints and art materials, easel, smock rental and helpful tips from an art-trained team of creative enablers. Beverages are sold separately.

Car-Free Day in Crystal City
Crystal City Water Park - 1750 Crystal Drive
September 22nd - 7am to 9am
Join us and the rest of the DC Metropolitan Area for part of a worldwide movement to celebrate more sustainable forms of transportation on Car Free Day - Tuesday, September 22. Go Car Free or Car-Lite and make a difference by bicycling, walking, teleworking, carpooling or taking transit. The Crystal City BID will be setup in the Crystal City Water Park giving out coffee and snacks for those going Car Free for the day. Participants can take the pledge even if you're already using these transportation alternatives.

Arlington Fun Ride
18th Street and Crystal Drive
Saturday, October 3rd - 8am
Take a scenic, family-friendly bike ride with Phoenix Bikes around the “Arlington Loop” while enjoying support from rest stops in Crystal City, Columbia Pike, Ballston and Rosslyn. Choose from 4-, 8-, 12-, or 16-mile ride distances and celebrate at the Family Fitness Festival in Crystal City. There will also be a shorter 3-mile Kidical Mass children’s loop in Crystal City, suitable for riders ages 10 and under. Monday Morning Yoga

Amateur and seasoned yogis can join professional instructors from Mind Your Body Oasis and flex their way into the week with Monday Morning Yoga in the Crystal City Water Park across from 1750 Crystal Drive. In the event of inclement weather, the class will be held inside at Mind Your Body Oasis.

Lane Closures on Airport Access Road
The National Park Service and the Federal Highway Administration are working on the Route 233 bridge, which connects Jefferson Davis Highway to the airport. An off-ramp from the southbound lanes of the GW Parkway also connects to the bridge. Single lane closures on the bridge are planned from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in both directions, according to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. At least one lane will be open on the bridge and on the GW Parkway ramp will remain open during the nine month project, which will replace the bridge’s median, among other improvements. Alice in Wonderland at Synetic Theater

Alice’s story takes a sharp turn as she falls down the rabbit hole into the dark and mysterious Wonderland. Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili will combine their signature cinematic style with a script by recent Helen Hayes Award nominee Lloyd Rose, that promises to be a fresh take on Lewis Carroll’s fairy tale of the absurd. The next general meeting of the Crystal City Civic Association is scheduled for Wednesday, September 16 in the Crystal Park Condominium community room, 1805 Crystal Drive. The main focus is on the planned completion of Long Bridge Park through an aquatics/recreation facility. To provide some context for that issue, Toby Smith, former Chair of the County’s Parks Commission, will offer an overview of how our current situation regarding parks and open space in Crystal City compares with the rest of the County. Thereafter, Erik Beach, Project Manager for Long Bridge Park will give a presentation of where the project stand. He will engage the audience in a hands-on exercise to obtain input for the current efforts to prioritize the features of the facility in order to fit it in under the approved budget.
