5K Fridays
Every Friday in April, Crystal City hosts this popular evening race where you can hit the pavement after work and head to dinner or a local watering hole after crossing the finish line. There are only two races left. Don't miss out! Click here to register. Click here for a list of road closures.

Spark Conscience: Power Purge & Shred
Celebrate Earth Day’s 45th Anniversary by securely recycling electronics and shedding documents at the annual Power Purge & Shred on Wednesday, April 22nd from 7 AM to 7 PM. This event has safely recycled over 139 tons of electronics in the past and provides an opportunity for Crystal City residents and workers to drop off everything from batteries, desktop computers and laptops, to TVs, monitor and microwaves. This year, donate an old bicycle to Bikes For The World and receive a complimentary LED light bulb from the Arlington Initiative to Rethink Energy when exchanging an old incandescent bulb (limit one per person, one supplies last). Bike to Work Week
May 11th through 15th - 7:00am to 9:00am - Friday, May 15th is National Bike to Work Day! The Crystal City BID is challenging area commuters to take the Bike to Work Week (BTWW) Challenge and ride to work every day of week. The 100 riders that show up the most number of mornings during pit stop hours, will receive a free, Crystal Ride Cycling Jersey!

The Air Force Association Cycling Classic
The Air Force Association Cycling Classic Challenge Ride, proudly brought to you by The Boeing Company, is back in Crystal City on Sunday June 14th! The Challenge Ride is an amateur, non-competitive, participatory ride, open to cyclists of all abilities. All participants will start and end in Crystal City. The ride will be held on a closed, 15km circuit in and around the Pentagon, Crystal City and the Air Force Memorial. Register today!

Crystal City FRESHFARM Farmers Market
Spark Fresh and shop at the popular FRESHFARMS Market. Enjoy products from 20 local farmers and producers with seasonal fruits and vegetables, fresh-cut flowers, container plants and herbs, farm-raised eggs, all-natural meats, artisan baked goods, specialty foods and much more. Celebrate the return of the FRESHFARMS market with a beer and wine garden serving refreshing drinks. The market is every Tuesday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at 1900 Crystal Drive.

Food Truck Thursdays
Arrive hungry and Spark Scrumptious at Food Truck Thursdays from 11 AM to 2 PM! The food trucks gather in the parking lot on Crystal Drive between 18th and 20th Streets. Some of the area’s favorite trucks including Doug the Food Dude, Kafta Mania, Willie's Po Boys, and Curbside Cupcake will be onsite offering delicious food for lunch. Actual truck schedules are subject to change so be sure to follow your favorites.

Crystal City Walkabout
Celebrate the arrival of spring on foot with a lunchtime Walkabout in Crystal City on April 17th from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Hosted by WalkArlington, the Walkabout highlights the unique places this lively urban village has to offer, from the sidewalk up. Rain or shine, this event is free of charge and is open to the public. Meet at the Crystal City Metro entrance (street level) at 18th and Bell streets to start the walk.

National Walk@Lunch Day
Arlington Transportation Partners will be hosting the 4th annual National Walk@Lunch Day on April 29th, 2015 from 11:30 am-1:30 pm! They will be hosting a pit stop at the Crystal City Water Park at 1750 Crystal Drive. Be sure to stop by to receive your free gift bag, enter to win raffle prizes (like a FitBit!) and pick up fun giveaways from local vendors and restaurants! You can sign up here.

Kids Create at the 296 Project
"Kids Create" - which is held once per month (4/18, 5/16) on a Saturday from 10:00 am – Noon allows children between 4 and 10 years of age to get a little messy while working with their hands to create something with a patriotic theme to either keep or potentially send to a service member overseas. Healthy snacks and beverages are always served. Click here to register.

Painting Uncorked
Create a piece of art while sipping wine! No experience required. Taught by Studio Underground artist Justyne Fischer, these 2-hour classes will result in an original piece of art you can take home and enjoy. Created by YOU! Fee covers wine and all materials.Come with your friends and uncork your hidden artist! Must be 21 years of age or over to participate. Class is 2 hours from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
