Marine Corps Marathon

Sunday, October 30th - 9:30am to 2:00pm
Crystal City streets enliven with over 30,000 runners during the 41th annual Marine Corps Marathon, where spectators can spark dedication and experience fun for all ages. The festival will include engaging activities like moon bounces, face painting, arts and crafts, cotton candy, balloon animals, circus activities, and more. The eclectic and colorful shopping experience of Eastern Market returns to 1900 Crystal Drive with Sparket – A Creative Market for a Spring Market from May to June. Featuring a diverse mix of arts, crafts, handmade jewelry, accessories, bath and beauty products and other local, handcrafted products as well as live-music and select food products, Sparket aims to provide a new lunchtime attraction for area workers, hotel guests, and residents.

The food trucks gather in the parking lots at 1900 Crystal Drive. Some of the area’s favorite trucks will be onsite offering a great mix of delicious food for lunch. Actual truck schedules are subject to change so be sure to follow your favorites.

Mobile Bike Repair - Final One of the Year

The weekly Mobile Bike Repair station will be open at Food Truck Thursdays for bike service. If you need a bike repair or simply a tune-up, show up onsite where walk-ups are welcome. You can also schedule an appointment by emailing roman@districtwrench.com. Note, this is the final mobile bike repair of the year.

Open Class for Non-Technical Founders: How to Bring on Developers

Public Meeting on the I-395 Northern Express Lanes

Monday, Oct. 24 - Hearing is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with a presentation at 7 p.m.
The Virginia Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Department of Rail and Public Transportation, will hold public meetings on plans to extend the I-395 Northern Express Lanes for eight miles from Turkeycock Run near Edsall Road to Eads Street near the Pentagon. The draft Environmental Assessment also will be presented for public review and comment. Provide comments on the design plans or draft EA at the public meeting, or until close of business on December 12, 2017. Visit the project website for additional detail.

Expressed through body and facial masks, pantomime illusions, and unique choreography, ‘Balloon’ tells a wonderful story of a traveling actor and his magical trunk of tricks and toys.

I-95/I-395 Transit/TDM Study – online survey
The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation held an open house in Arlington last month to discuss its I-95/I-395 Transit/Transportation Demand Management (TDM) study. As part of that review, to be released for public comment in December, the department is seeking online input on transit and TDM needs along the I-95/I-395 corridor.

There is a beer tasting on Thursday and wine tasting on Friday from 5pm to 7pm as well as a Staff Pick tasting on Saturday from 2pm to 6pm each week!
