WINTER HEATS UP WITH THREE MONTHS OF SIZZLING EVENTS IN CRYSTAL CITY

WINE, BEER, ART, FASHION AND CYCLING START THE NEW YEAR

January – 1K Wine Walk and 1K Beer Walk
January/February – ArtJamz: Blue Crystal Sessions I , II, III & IV
February – Crystal Couture Show and Sale
March – Inaugural Crystal City Diamond Derby

Crystal City, VA — The Crystal City Business Improvement District is warming up the winter months with an array of events sure to make even the coldest days seem comfortable. From fashion shows to cycling races, Crystal City is kicking off 2012 like no one else!

January: 1K Wine Walk and 1K Beer Walk
Lace up your walking shoes and sip your way to the finish line, but you won’t find energy drinks along the way. Instead, walkers can sample more than 30 different wines as they make their way through a fun indoor course at the Crystal City Shops (2200 Crystal Drive) during the one and only 1K Wine Walk on January 14 & 15, 2012. Walkers can tap into even more fun the following weekend (January 21 & 22) with the inaugural 1K Beer Walk. For more information and tickets, visit the Washington Wine Academy website.

February: Crystal Couture – Show and Sale
A fashionable favorite returns to Crystal City with more boutiques and designers than ever before from February 7 – 11, 2012, with a special media sneak preview on February 6, 2012 at 6pm. The DC area’s hottest fashion show and high-end trunk sale will take over the former food court turned fashion hot spot at the Crystal City Shops (1750 Crystal Drive). Fashion fans can expect spectacular runway shows, deep designer discounts and free makeovers with makeup and wardrobe experts. Visit CrystalCity.org for more information.

January/February: ArtJamz – Blue Crystal Sessions I-IV
Kick start your New Year with a dose of creativity as ArtJamz returns to Crystal City. The Blue Crystal Sessions will be hosted over two separate weekends - January 27 and 28, 2012 and February 24 and 25, 2012 - in partnership with King Street Blues. Tickets for the Blue Crystal Sessions cost $65 and include all the ingredients necessary to create your very own masterpiece – a canvas, paint and supplies, tips from the ArtJamz Creative Enablers, and sufficient beer, wine, vitaminwater zero, and delicious catering from King Street Blues to feed and inspire your creative side! March: Crystal City Diamond Derby
Dust off your derby hats and don your denim for the inaugural Crystal City Diamond Derby on March 10, 2012. Sponsored by BNA and in partnership with Dandies & Quaintrelles, the Crystal City Diamond Derby will transform a parking garage into a distinctive cycling obstacle course complete with a luxurious lounge, spectator viewing areas, diamond-themed art, and an edgy, glitzy, one-of-a-kind experience.
