Arlington, VA ‐ Critics and audiences agree! Synetic’s King Lear is not to be missed! The Helen Hayes Awards Recommended© production currently at the Lansburgh Theatre through April 24, is the seventh installment of Synetic’s renowned “Silent Shakespeare” series. Due to overwhelming demand, Synetic Theater is thrilled to announce an extension into their Crystal City venue! The show will open in Crystal City on August 29th, and close May 8!

With apocalyptic visuals, farce, knife‐play and acrobatics, director Paata Tsikurishvili brings lightness to this dark and violent tale of a king’s descent into madness and his search for humanity. King Lear is guaranteed to move and entertain audiences. "As much skilled physicality, drama, low comedy, dancing and fighting is packed into this production's 95 minutes as can normally only be found in a whole season's worth of shows…” exclaims DCist.

The King Lear extension stars Helen Hayes Award winner Irakli Kavsadze in the title role and features Ben Cunis, Philip Fletcher, Greg Anderson, Miřenka Čechová, Chris Galindo, Austin Johnson, Lauren Elizabeth Kieler, Renata Loman, Peter Pereyra, Hector Reynoso, Dallas Tolentino, Brynn Tucker, Ryan Tumulty and Matt Ward.

As a special benefit for runners of the Crystal City BID's 5K Friday series, anyone who runs the last 5K Friday race on April 29th can get discounted tickets to any performance of King Lear during the extension.
