CRYSTAL CITY, VA — The Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) is turning up the heat over the next month with events sure to keep even the coldest days comfortable.
1K Beer Walk
This weekend (January 21 and 22, 2012), the Crystal City BID and Washington Wine Academy present the inaugural 1K Beer Walk, featuring a wide variety of beer from local breweries and those beyond the Beltway, as well as savory snacks from Memphis Barbecue. Walkers can sample more than 30 different beers from 11 participating breweries while they cruise a fun, indoor course at the Crystal City Shops (see below for the full list of participating breweries). Heats start every half hour from 2:00pm to 5:30pm, and at the finish line, walkers will be rewarded for their efforts with a 1K race T-shirt. If your racing partner prefers something different, wine will be served for those who want a twist on the traditional beer experience.
Crystal Couture – Show and Sale
Crystal Couture – Show and Sale, the DC area’s hottest trunk sale and fashion show, returns to Crystal City in its fourth year from February 7 – 11, 2012, with a special media sneak preview on Monday, February 6 at 6pm. Fashion fans can expect an amazing array of more than 40 boutiques and designers from the DC area and beyond at this free event (see below for the full list of participating boutiques). Crystal Couture takes over the former food court turned fashion hot spot at the Crystal City Shops, transforming the space into a shopping site with discounts of up to 50 percent, as well as a rocking runway and lounge. The one-stop shopping experience allows guests to browse discounted styles on the rack and on the runway as models showcase offerings from participating boutiques and designers. Cool off from the sizzling styles with sips from the bar, free make-up and hair makeovers, chats with wardrobe stylists and music from DJ Neekola.
