Two-Week Fashion Extravaganza Set for February 2009
Crystal City (Arlington, VA) – The Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) is partnering with fashion maven Katherine Glorioso of Gossip on 23rd, Lowe Enterprises Real Estate Group, and DC Modern Luxury to create a fortnight of fun and fantastic fashion in the heart of Crystal City. Running from February 13-28, 2009, Crystal Couture will feature sample sales, runway and trunk shows from designers, local boutiques, and area salons.
“The BID is always looking for fresh ways to demonstrate the capacity of the area,” said Angela Fox, President/CEO of the Crystal City BID. “Crystal Couture is about showcasing opportunities for creative retail. No matter what your fashion style, be it chic and classic or funk and punk, Crystal Couture will offer something special and unique for everyone.”
Crystal Couture will be managed by Glorioso, owner of Crystal City’s Gossip on 23rd. Featuring stylish, affordable women’s fashions and accessories, Gossip recently celebrated a highly successful first year in business.
All Crystal Couture evening events, including the opening and closing fetes, will be open to the public and held in newly developed retail space at the corner of 23rd Street and Crystal Drive. The venue is part of a $25 million redevelopment of the Crystal Drive streetscape and the interior retail space, known as the Link, at the Century Center owned by Lowe Enterprises Real Estate Group.
Event hours will be from 6-10 p.m. weekdays, with special daytime events on Saturdays, Sundays, and Presidents’ Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Crystal City offers many active, artful and green programs, making it a great place to live, work, play, and stay. Visit the Crystal Couture event page on Facebook or www.crystalcity.org for up-to-date event information.
