Crystal City Dazzles with ArtJamz
Unleash Your Inner Artist
Crystal City (Arlington, VA) – The Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) continues to uniquely transform and showcase spaces in Crystal City. Now partnered with ArtJamz, Crystal City will morph office space into a hands-on, energetic, temporary art studio that more than doubles the capacity of ArtJamz’s previous offerings.
“ArtJamz is the latest way to spend a creative evening with good friends,” said Angela Fox, President/CEO of the Crystal City BID. “We think that it is a perfect fit for Crystal City combining some of the best aspects of our Art, Vintage, and Couture programs into a great night out.”
ArtJamz, founded by Michael M. Clements as a production of Genki Media LLC, is dedicated to the incubation of, consultation for, and management of creative enterprises in the Washington DC metro area. Clements says the idea behind ArtJamz came from his time living abroad in Hong Kong where he participated in similar group painting nights.
Located in Lowe Enterprises' Century Two building (2461 S. Clark Street), ArtJamz will give participants a canvas, paint, and 4 hours to create an original work of art – which they can then take home. The event also features a social environment that includes wine, refreshments, hors d’œuvres, and great music. The sessions will be split into two separate weeks. The first session, dubbed ArtJamz: The Crystal Ball Sessions, will be held from 7 PM to 11 PM on November 17th to November 20th. ArtJamz: The Super Crystal Sessions will follow the Thanksgiving Holiday and run from 7 PM to 11 PM on December 2nd to December 4th. The final Sunday KidsJamz Session on December 5th from 11 AM to 2 PM will play host to parents and kids interested in getting in on the action. Additionally, kids will get a free sneak peek at the KidJamz offerings at this year’s “Kidtacular” at the Marine Corps Marathon on October 31st from 9:30 AM to 2 PM. For sales and ticketing information for the November and December sessions, please visit www.crystalcity.org. People interested in ArtJamz in Crystal City can take advantage of special Groupon deal today and get a $65 ticket for only $35.
ArtJamz is part of the Crystal City BID’s Artful program. Home to nationally recognized theater, stunning street art, designer cuisine, unique shopping, a fashion extravaganza, and an international wine festival, Crystal City provides a cultural destination that is uniquely accessible and entertaining for all ages. The Crystal City BID has transformed the area’s appeal by turning underpasses into galleries, launching outdoor statue art projects, making creative use of available retail space, and decorating and deepening the area’s artful side.
