FotoDC
Interior Concourse of the Crystal City Shops
In a partnership with FotoWeek DC and Vornado/Charles E. Smith, the Crystal City BID brought the popular Art Walls program indoors. Each November, stunning photography is added to the interior concourse that connects the Crystal City Metro to countless office and residential buildings as well as the Crystal City Shops. The exhibition features the winning photographs and select entrants to FotoWeek DC’s annual competition that provides the imagery for the annual weeklong festival in the District.
Each year, FotoWeek DC also incorporates an additional feature into the exhibition that is not being displayed in any other FotoWeek DC venue.

In 2009, FotoWeek DC incorporated the Newseum’s popular Fotobama Exhibition offering a stunning pictorial overview of the 2008 Presidential Election Campaign. FotoWeek DC also hosted an evening photo projection on the façade of Lowe Enterprises’ newest retail development at 23rd and Crystal Drive.

FotoWeek DC was founded in 2008 to celebrate the power of photography with its first weeklong festival drawing over 20,000 visitors and is expected to produce even greater numbers this year. The organization also created the recent FotObama exhibition that launched at the Newseum. FotoWeek DC 2009 will be a photographic immersion, featuring the latest in documentary and fine art, in addition to every genre of photography.
