Artomatic 2012 Opens Friday, May 18th
This week marks the opening of Artomatic 2012, the Washington area’s biggest free creative arts event. Artomatic will feature work by more than 1300 artists, performers, musicians, filmmakers, fashion designers, and creatives of all kinds. Doors open to the public on Friday, May 18 at 6 p.m. at 1851 South Bell Street in Crystal City, Va., one block from the Crystal City Metro Station. The festival runs through Saturday, June 23.

Artomatic Artist Registration Now Open
Registration is now open for artists and performers to display work at Artomatic 2012, the DC area’s biggest free arts event, being held from May 18 to June 23 in Crystal City at Vornado/Charles E. Smith's 1851 South Bell Street. Artists, performers, filmmakers, and creatives of all types may now register to participate in Artomatic at www.artomatic.org.

Power Purge & Shred Gets Colorful
he Crystal City Business Improvement District’s (BID) annual Power Purge & Shred adds another splash of color. Having safely recycled over 110 tons of electronics and paper, this year’s event set for Wednesday, April 25th from 7 AM to 7 PM, will also provide a convenient place to safely dispose of household paints.

Yoga
Starting at 7 AM in May and stretching through the end of September, beginners and seasoned yogis are invited to join professional instructors from Mind Your Body Oasis every Monday at 7:00am and flex their way into the week with Morning Meditation and Yoga in the Crystal City Water Park across from 1750 Crystal Drive.

The Crystal City FRESHFARM Market will setup shop on the sidewalk of Crystal Drive between 18th and 20th Street every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. starting May 1st and running through November 24th.

Join the Crystal City BID, Sport and Health fitness club, and Vornado/Charles E. Smith every Wednesday at noon for free Zumba in the courtyard of 2121 Crystal Drive. Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away.

Crystal Screen: Rom Com
Every Monday, from June 4th to August 27th, 2012, the courtyard at 1850 Bell Street is transformed into a movie theater. With the help of Moonflicks, the Crystal City BID shows free outdoor movies. There is no better place to meet some friends, bring a picnic, and enjoy an evening under the stars. This year's theme is Crystal Screen: Rom Com.
